“So where should I start?” you might ask. The fastest way to get moving on a journey of prosperity is to seek education first. Follow these simple steps and make a commitment to continue to learn throughout your life. Specific ways to manage your “gold” may change over time, but the basics remain the same.

In just 2 Weeks you can be on your way to a future of prosperity.

Week 1 – Get and READ the book…twice!

I recommend that every person that wants to achieve financial prosperity read the timeless book “The Richest Man in Babylon” by George Clason. It’s delightfully short (100 pages or so), yet packed with golden wisdom. Written in the 1920s about a fictional group of characters “seeking wealth” in ancient Babylon, it was required reading by my first employer. I’ve read it every year since then. It’s the best no-nonsense personal finance advice you’ll ever need to live a prosperous life…regardless of your income.

Week 2 – Sign up for a ROTH IRA

You need a “bucket” to hold your future prosperity and there is no better option for individuals than a ROTH IRA. It would be an account that is in addition to the pension you will receive from the County/State.

Simply go online to Schwab.com (once again, we have no affiliation, it’s just an easy, convenient provider) or whomever you trust to set it up. Try to commit to putting $100 per month into the account with an automatic withdrawal because most providers waive the initial minimum of $1,000 if you do that.

The money you put in is yours to direct however you wish but don’t get bogged down in complex stocks or bonds. Just start getting the money flowing into your account. You will have plenty of time later to modify your investments.

Week Inifinite – Continue learning and help others do the same

Continue your quest for knowledge about HOW money works for the rest of your life and you will be amazed at what you can achieve with even modest amounts saved each month.

As your financial prowess grows, think about those around you. What good is prosperity if it’s not shared? Help your fellow teachers, friends and family learn these basic steps and you’ll share a life time of prosperity.

Good luck on your journey.

Live long and prosper!
